Lecture Details:

In 1977, at age 22, Derry Connolly left his native Ireland, the land of Saint Patrick, to study for his PhD in California. In an appropriately humorous Irish storytelling format, he will happily reminisce on the idyllic Catholic Ireland of his youth. Contemporary Ireland, with its rapid economic boom due to European integration and globalization, enjoys all the material trappings of a successful first-world nation, but it suffers from deep moral decay, the unimaginable decline in Irish Catholicism, mass immigration, and a loss of national identity. He will detail his spiritual, personal, and miraculous journey to JPCatholic University and its mission to Impact Culture for Christ. Now booming in its twentieth year, JPCatholic has new collaborative program to send student evangelists to Ireland as 21st century St Patrick’s!

Dr Connolly has served as the Founding President of John Paul the Great Catholic University since 2003.
